Latest acquisition boosts Adler & AllanSpirit Capital Partners is pleased to announce that its portfolio company, Adler & Allan, has acquired the UK port and harbour response businesses of Oil Spill Response Limited and East Asia Response Limited (‘OSRL/EARL’).

Spirit Capital originally invested £9 million in Adler & Allan in June 2007 in order to support the further expansion of the business.  The business operates from a nationwide network of 16 offices and depots, providing a full range of oil, water and tank services to a blue chip customer base and is also known for its leading role in the clean up following the Buncefield oil terminal disaster.

This latest acquisition has secured Adler & Allan’s access to OSRL/EARL’s strong customer base within the UK ports network.  This further confirms Adler & Allan as one of the UK's largest spill response companies, now with a strong presence across the country's ports and harbours.

Mark Calvert, Managing Director of Adler & Allan, believes the takeover will further enhance the company’s strength across the UK in this sector.  He said: “This acquisition significantly broadens our geographic coverage and adds a substantial maritime offering to our service portfolio.”

Part of Adler & Allan’s strategic growth plan is to acquire businesses which will enhance its geographic coverage and broaden its specialist services.  This latest acquisition follows several others made recently over the last 18 months.  In November 2007, it enhanced its fuel distribution operation through the acquisition of Watford based Meridian and Nexus Petroleum, along with their fuel uplift and tankering services.  In March 2008, Adler & Allan acquired Fuel Installation Services which, based in St Albans, specialises in highly skilled servicing, design and installation of equipment and systems to store and dispense fuels and lubricants.  Following the effects of recent legislation, Adler & Allan is recognised as one of the most experienced operators in the storage and management of petroleum based products.
