EDSR appoints new Chairman
18 July 2007
Spirit Capital (“Spirit” formerly AAMPE*) is pleased to announce the appointment of John Purvis as Non-Executive Chairman of portfolio company EDSR.
John retired as CEO of environmental, engineering and planning consultancy White Young Green Plc (“WYG”) in June 2007 after 17 years with the business. A chartered civil and structural engineer by background he has extensive experience in the design, construction and management of major projects; he also brings a wealth of industry experience and proven business acumen. Under his leadership, WYG's turnover grew at a rate of some 25% per annum and expanded from five to 43 offices over the space of 10 years.
EDSR provides turnkey solutions and project management to assist owners of disused industrial sites in meeting their regulatory decontamination obligations and, if possible, to realise development value by returning remediated sites to sustainable use. Spirit Capital led the management buy-out in February 2007.
Tom Brankley, Managing Director, EDSR commented: "We are delighted to have John on board. His knowledge and counsel will be a great asset and support to us and his experience resonates well with EDSR's expertise and ambitions."
